Going to Asia

Hi everyone, this is Dawn. Gabe and I are in the process of writing our first newsletter to send out to everyone we know to tell them about the big move we are about to make to Thailand. Not only are we about to write a newsletter, but we will be meeting with a lot of people and explaining what our vision is. So, I thought it would be a good idea if we practiced by telling everyone who reads our blog about our plans, visions, and dreams; as well as, information on where we are going and what we are going to do. This blog and the next few blogs will be filled with a ton of info so everyone can stay well informed.

• When I first met Gabe, one of the first times we hung out, I asked him what he wanted to do when he grew up and his answer was, " I want to be on the mission field." I thought that was an incredible answer and I am sure one of the reasons I started to really like him. So we got married knowing that we would one day serve on the mission field, but we just weren't sure when that would be.

• About a year and a half ago is when we first felt like God was really preparing us to go. And I have to say that even though it was my heart's desire, I still couldn't rationalize it in my head. I thought we needed to have all our children first and be completely set financially before we could even start to seek God about going on the mission field. I would look at Gabe's parents and say, "Well you guys waited until you had three children to become missionaries." They just told me simply that they went when God told them to go, not when they planned in out in their own minds. It wasn't long until God changed my way of thinking and showed me why it is now that He is sending us. Thank you Lord!
