Okay. Every Friday we visit this site called thai-blogs.com because they do this special lunchtime Thai menu blog. It's so cool because this guy, Richard Barrows, and his three employees go out on the streets of Bangkok and get as much food as they can for $3. They then go back to their office and take pictures of the dishes and put them on the blog. It is so crazy to me that they can get like three or four meals, soup or salad, and a dessert most of the time for only $3 US. Anyways, here are some of the dishes that I have been excited about (I am leaving out the ones that might freak us all out).
Pad Wunsen (63 cents US)
This dish is actually my favorite dish at the Thai Green Leaf right here in Hammond, LA
so it's great to know that I can get it on the streets of Thailand also.
Seafood Tom Yum (less than $1 US)
This is actually a pretty popular soup in Thailand from what I've heard.
I love to order this soup from a Vietnamese restaurant in Baton Rouge, LA called Pho Quyhn
Chicken Coconut Soup (63 cents US)
This one sounds good and interesting.
Clear Soup with Mixed Vegetables
Sounds normal. Whew!
Hard Boiled Egg in Sweet & Sour Sauce
Not too weird either.
Spicy Stir-Fried Chicken with Long Beans (63 cents US)
Again, normal.
Are these pictures making your mouth water? Mine is. So for those of you who come visit us, don't feel like you are going to have to eat bugs and snakes (although you could find fried bugs really easy if you wanted to try them). If you want to check out these Friday Thai lunch menu blogs for yourself, remember, www.thai-blogs.com.
